Umbilical Pressure & Resistance Monitoring System


Britannia provides a comprehensive system for monitoring umbilical pressure and resistance, designed for reliability, accuracy, and ease of use in demanding environments.


System Overview


The system is centred around a robust data logger equipped with a high-strength antenna, capable of receiving wireless signals from multiple transmitters. All transmitters are pre-configured to the data logger and housed in IP66-rated enclosures with IP66 cable glands. Each enclosure and input is clearly labelled for straightforward installation and operation.


Pressure Monitoring


One or more transmitters are configured to measure pressure via high-quality pressure transducers. Sensors are available with ranges up to 0–1000 bar and are supplied with:


✔5 metres of cable

✔IP67-rated cable mounts

✔Clear cable identification markers

Environmental Monitoring


An ambient temperature and/or humidity transmitter is included as standard, allowing for environmental condition monitoring alongside system performance.


Signal Reliability


Each system is supplied with a radio booster to enhance signal strength, ensuring reliable communication even in challenging or remote locations.


Software & Data Access


User-friendly software enables both real-time data monitoring and data download for analysis and reporting.


Service and Calibration

Full servicing and calibration of all equipment carried out in house by Britannia. All sensors will be calibrated using UKAS certified equipment

Storage & Portability


All components are securely housed in a durable, large Peli case, complete with operating instructions and calibration equipment for convenient transport and storage.

Resistance Measurements

Measures Umbilical resistance range up to 0 - 10,000 ohms (+/- 1 ohms resolution)

250 Channels

Ability to monitor up to 250 channels, inputs or sensors

Minimal Installation

Without the need to run cable installation time and disruption is kept at a minimal

Auto Dialler

The unit can ring and deliver a prerecorded message to up to 10 numbers that requires acknowledgement.

0-1600 bar Sensors

Umbilical pressure ranges up to 1600 bar (+/- 0.25%)

Transmitted data is Encrypted

Data is encrypted

Independent

The system does not rely on a PC or network connection. Fully standalone.

IP67 Enclosures and Glands

Sensors connections are via IP67 water proof connections for ease of deployment.

2 KM 
Transmissions

System can transmit up to 2 KM over open ground. Boosters are available for difficult or distant units.

Battery Back Up

System has extended battery back up in case of mains failure.

Optional text alarm unit
