Ammonia has many uses and is used in the production of fertilisers, plastics, synthetic fibres, dyes, explosives and pharmaceuticals.
The signs and symptoms at 50ppm will include irritation to eyes, nose and throat (2 hours' exposure)
At 100ppm rapid eye and respiratory tract irritation
Ammonia gas is non flammable, but because it is mixed with oxygen in certain concentration and could explode if ignited, it is treated as flammable.
